Prices

Save money!! Our multi-skilled handymen are available at a fraction of the cost of hiring separate plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other tradesman. We can handle a wide range of tasks all in one visit.

Why pay for a single-skill tradesman? (If you can even get one to come!) Our multi-skilled handymen are much better value.

 

We work on a 'time + materials' basis:

 

Two hours (minimum booking) : £85

Rate thereafter : £35 per hour or part of.

No VAT at present.

 

Our honesty with time: We can give you an estimate of how long your job would take. Unless it sounds like a larger job of more than one days work then, due to the small nature of most jobs, we can't come out to quote.

When we arrive, if the job looks like it will take a lot longer, we will let you know first. If you do not wish to proceed then there is no charge.

 

Whats included in the price: As with all professional tradesmen our overheads are considerable and are factored into our prices, its not just staff wages:

  • Tax, National Insurance, pension, holiday & sick pay.
  • Van purchase, road tax, insurance, mot.
  • Fuel.
  • Public Liability Insurance.
  • Advertising.
  • Tool purchase, repair and replenishment.
  • Quotes, advice & booking/admin hours.
  • Training & trade organisations.
  • Accountants.... etc.

Terms of Business:

  1. Two hour minimum charge for local jobs. Full day minimum for jobs outside our area. See map (here) for details.

  2. Apppointment times are made in good faith but due to traffic and possible overruns of previous jobs please allow for at least one hour delay in arrival before the appointment can count as cancelled if you haven't heard from us (we will always try to phone if we have your number).

  3. Evenings (working 5pm onwards) and weekends only available by prior arrangement and with surcharges).

  4. Quotes available for longer (1 day+) or recurring jobs. Contact us for a written quote.

  5. Materials are not included - we carry a range of tools and small parts such as nails and screws which we can use but anything we need to purchase, hire or order for the job will be agreed first and charged to you with a 10% markup to reflect our travel costs and selection skill. Time involved in purchasing or collecting parts/supplies is charged.

  6. Payment is due at the end of each visit. Cash and bank transfer only. Cheques no longer accepted, sorry.

  7. Unpaid invoices may incur interest, charges and recovery expenses.

  8. If there is no free parking at your address we will have to add any carpark charges or parking penalties, during the duration of the work, to your bill. If you live in an area with restricted parking please inform us when booking and where applicable please supply a residents parking/visitors permit.

  9. Any wasted appointments are charged and will be invoiced. e.g. no answer at door, unable to park nearby, or rental properties where landlord/tenant does not show up.

  10. Cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours notice. If we have purchased materials for the job these will be charged if we cannot return them. Time spent returning materials will also be charged.

  11. Materials do not transfer ownership until all invoices are paid in full.

  12. We cannot take waste away with us on your behalf. Please have suitable facilities available for waste. We can organise collection/skips if required.

  13. Cables, pipes and other services are expected to be located in the appropriate regulation zones in walls. In the very rare event of damage to cables, pipes or other services from drilling or other cutting we cannot be held liable for consequential damage, although best efforts are always made with cable/pipe detectors and repairs will be made as best as possible.
